Job Summary
**We’re hiring for Support Workers for Elm Tree Market Garden**:
The Market Garden provides services for people with learning disabilities and autism based at Elm Tree Farm, providing an opportunity for training, employment and wellbeing outcomes.
The Support Worker will be responsible for contributing to the planning of projects and activities which are appropriate for the client group. You will also help to maintain current links and create new relationships within the local food network whilst increasing income from sales of produce, both through our onsite farm shop and to external customers.

**Your skills**:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

**Your responsibilities**:
- Support people with learning disabilities to achieve their desired outcomes
- To work with the people we support to maintain and cultivate seasonal plants and to produce seasonal produce items such as jams and preserves
- Attend supervisions, complete identified training
- Deliver excellent customer service
- To help plan and facilitate activities and events
- Work with the Elm Tree Farm team and community growing networks to identify opportunities for joint working
- To transport the people we support and produce/items for sale to markets and events
- Work with the Project Leader to develop high quality product range
- Ensure the site is kept clean and tidy and well organised
- Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times
- Inspect facilities and equipment for signs or disrepair, and report maintenance works needed as required
- Help maintain records as per Brandon policy
- Work with the Project Leader to keep the project within its budget, keeping a record of and monitoring expenditure and income.
- Maintain records and work in accordance with the key policies and procedures of Brandon.
- Be willing to be flexible and work weekend shifts according to the needs of the market garden and wider farm.
- To empower the people we support to live the lives they want to lead
- To develop daily living skills.
- Support the people we support to access their communities for socialisation, employment, training or friendships
- To contribute to, develop and implement the individuals care plans.
- To communicate effectively and professionally with people we support, their family members, and external professionals.
- Maintain the health needs of the individuals we support
About the role
Brandon exists to enable children, young people and adults with a learning disability, autism, or both, to live life in the way they choose. We provide high-quality, individualised support to around 1,600 people and have a staff team of over 2,000. Operating across southern England and London, support is provided by a widely dispersed workforce, including public spaces and the homes of the people we support.
