Job Summary
**We’re hiring for a Support Worker at Elm Tree Farm Shop.**:
This inspiring and interesting role, combines the opportunity to utilise and develop your retail experience with empowering people with a learning disability to reach their goal of achieving paid employment.
Elm Tree Farm is a social enterprise providing services for people with a learning disability, autism or both. The farm enables people to achieve their goals in education, employment and health and wellbeing.
We have a part-time position available, covering 30 hours a week, 4 day on a rota basis, which may include Saturdays. Shifts are 9am to 5pm.

**We’re looking for**:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Retail experience
- Enthusiastic about motivating and supporting staff and people with learning disabilities.
- Someone who is reliable, approachable, upbeat and calm.
- An attitude towards others based on respect, dignity and equality.
- Supportive of innovative ideas that benefit the shop.
- Good IT skills.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Support people with learning disabilities to achieve their desired outcomes.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- To help plan and facilitate activities and events.
- Ensure the shop is kept clean and tidy and well organised.
- Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Inspect facilities and equipment for signs or disrepair, and report maintenance works needed as required.
- Maintain records and work in accordance with the key policies and procedures of Brandon.
- Be willing to be flexible and work weekend shifts according to the needs of the Farm Shop.
- To empower the people we support to live the lives they want to lead.
- To develop daily living skills.
- Support the people we support to access their communities for socialisation, employment, training or friendships.
- To contribute to, develop and implement the individuals care plans.
- To communicate effectively and professionally with people we support, their family members, and external professionals.
- Maintain the health needs of the individuals we support.
