**About Us**

TfL has set up a wholly owned property company with some of the best assets in London and the ability to make meaningful improvements to the lives of millions of Londoners.

While TfL’s vital purpose is to move London forward through running the capital’s transport network, it is also one of the biggest landowners in London. TfL’s assets include over 1,000 retail units in stations or on London’s High Streets and 850 railway arches, as well as hundreds of acres of developable land which will deliver at least 20,000 homes over the next ten years. TfL is quickly becoming one of London’s largest property companies.

TfL will be building thousands of affordable homes, whilst investing in operational enhancements and creating a dividend that will be reinvested into the transport network.

Managing this new business is the responsibility of a new Executive team and a Land & Property Committee, a committee of the TfL Board. There is a rare opportunity for experienced board-level individuals to contribute to this exciting new phase of shaping TfL’s strategy and growth. Providing guidance and thought leadership in how best they can embrace strategic leadership, stewardship and oversight of the activities to achieve TfL’s ambitions.

**About the Role**

London is facing a well-documented housing crisis with a significant under-supply of new affordable homes. This makes TfL uniquely positioned to provide medium-density, high-amenity, high-accessibility, low-carbon places that support vibrant life and commerce, connected by public transport and active travel. TfL is aligned to the Mayor’s Transport Strategy and recognises the pressing need to decarbonise London, with rising demand for environmentally sustainable spaces that enable and encourage use of sustainable transport, walking and cycling.

We need the right people who want to drive innovation in this space, providing expert industry knowledge and support the Executive team to take on these challenges. Ensuring that TfL is serving its customers, making best use of resources and providing value for money.

The Senior Advisors will help the Executive to realise its purpose by using corporate plans and Strategies to effectively run the property business whilst also delivering on relevant policies of the Mayor’s Transport Strategy and London Plan. Further key responsibilities will include:

- Attending and contributing at the Land and Property Committee meetings on the strategic development of the property company
- Helping maintain the financial viability of TfL by supporting the Executive team in monitoring any medium and long-term financial planning
- Reviewing the procedures and controls in place relating to the property company’s business plan, and the ongoing management of the budget and borrowing arrangements by the Executive
- Ensuring that major risks are regularly reviewed and understood with the appropriate controls put in place to manage them effectively
- Helping the Executive to actively create and promote a positive and collaborative organisational culture
- Promoting and delivering social responsibility and equality of opportunity and diversity across all aspects of its business
- Meeting and advising senior leaders to discuss significant issues within their areas as well as attending operational visits and talking to operational colleagues

**About You**

We are seeking exceptional individuals with relevant experience to influence the planning and delivery of our investment programme. To succeed, you will need a track record of strategic leadership at board level or C-Suite level positions in a high-profile business, with experience of developing and delivering complex transport, housing or infrastructure projects.

We have several vacancies to fill, a wealth of experience within the property and land industry, with expertise gained in similar large complex organisations to TfL is essential.

You will be enthusiastic and confident with strong communication skills with significant experience of managing and delivering at senior (Board) level.

Proven ability to influence at a senior level, including in the political arena, project environments and with external stakeholders. You will have exceptional ambassadorial, interpersonal, advocacy and negotiating skills.

You will have an objective approach to decision-making and a nuanced understanding of the advisory nature of the Board, all times act with impartiality, integrity and observe confidentiality and data protection requirements.

You will be wholly committed to upholding with TfL visions and values, organisational objectives, governance and legal requirements as well as upholding social responsibility
