**Job Summary / Main Purpose**
The post holder will work alongside a range of professionals involved in the delivery of Early Intervention support and services to children, young people and their families/carers living in Belfast.
The Practitioner will work directly with children, young people and their families in their own home with the aim of promoting their emotional health & wellbeing in partnership with the local community.
The Practitioner will also work with families/carers to enhance their understanding of child development and provide them with advice and support in caring for their child or young person.
**Key Duties / Responsibilities**
- Work under the direction of the Team Leader/coordinator and other key professionals involved with the child/young person.
- Work as part of the multidisciplinary/cross agency team providing parents/carers with specific information and advice about child development, providing emotional support as required.
- Work alongside and under the direction of other professionals in helping parents/carers understand and implement specific strategies to promote their child/young person’s development.
- Provide interventions/materials as agreed with other professionals and help families understand how to implement these at home.
- Undertake direct work with children/young people and families in consultation with and as agreed with other professionals to improve motor skills, social skills, communication skills and personal development both in the home and other community settings.
- Provide assistance and support to access local parent/family support groups as required.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary planning and review meetings/discussions as required and requested by the line manager.
- Participate fully in team activities and team development.
- Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the line manager.

**Salary**: £12.25-£19.60 per hour
