**Hours per week: 37 Monday - Friday, Week 1 is 07:00-15:00 (14:30 on a Friday) and Week 2 is 09:00 - 17:00**

A Case Progression Officer is required to facilitate the effective progression of all cases from charging decision to trial, working closely with internal police units, CPS and Courts to ensure productive use of judicial time and other resource through early identification of issues that might delay the Court.

Key responsibilities:

- Accountable for the processing of receipt of Court results, identify cases for upgrade and provide early notification of results to Officers.
- Contribute to the efficiency of information by entering, updating, retrieving and filing/disposal computer/digital and manually stored case filed information using appropriate systems and databases. Ensure that they are accurately maintained and within the agreed timeframes.
- Use appropriate IT systems to monitor scheduled work to ensure timeliness of files and escalate issues to supervisors and Team Leaders within FAST that might cause delays in the preparation of files.
- Communication with Officers, Justice Gateway and ERO's, to progress the file in accordance with organisation timeframes.
- Act as a central point of contact for all Agencies and provide information on repeat issues to the CJ Operational Manager for feedback to Officers and discussion at Multi-Agency meetings.
- Provide appropriate information on disclosure, treating each case individually on its own merits, ensuring information only released to relevant parties within the confines of the Data Protection Act and other legislation.
- Provide a consistently high quality customer service, challenging working practises and making recommendations for improvement, whilst continually working towards the aims and objectives of the department and the organisation.

**Qualifications**:

- Good standard of education with GCSEs (Grade 9-4/A-C) in English and Maths or equivalent.

**Experience & Knowledge**:

- Recent experience of working in an administrative role within a customer service environment, including use of databases.
- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation
- Proven Knowledge and/or understanding of the Criminal Justice System, MS Office packages and police databases, e.g. PNC desirable.

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Able to use own initiative and ability to problem solve.
- Good time management skills and ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail/accurate work skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to deal with difficult people.
- Able to work as a team player.
- Capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered essential.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).

Full Driving licence, access to a vehicle or access to means of mobility support.
