**POST: PROJECT SUPPORT OFFICER- VOLUNTEERING AND COMMUNITIES**

**1. Core Function**

Undertake office and project administration duties to support the development and delivery of Volunteer

Centre activities across West Lincolnshire inline with Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation and NAVCA (National Association for Voluntary and Community Action) standards. Voluntary Centre Services delivers services across the local authority districts of West Lindsey, Lincoln City and North Kesteven.

**2. Duties and Responsibilities**

Specific duties
- Support delivery of Volunteer Centre brokerage services.
- Recruit new volunteers for local groups and organisations.
- Actively support and develop our social media presence
- Administrative support at the relevant area office
- Act as a point of contact for enquiries
- Maintain and utilise our database and other digital tools used for event administration, appointment bookings, mailings, marketing and customer feedback
- Collect and collate information required for monitoring purposes, reports and contractual compliance
- Promote volunteering at local events and carry out volunteering outreach.
- Develop and distribute marketing materials
- Support volunteers working in the office and on projects
- Obtain business supplies and deal with suppliers
- Compile and distribute mailouts and other communications as required
- Support our DBS checking service

General duties and responsibilities
- Work in co-operation with other team members across the whole organisation
- Maintain communications with project partners and other key project stakeholders
- Act in accordance with the organisation’s core values, policies and procedures, including equal opportunities and diversity
- Support the organisation to achieve and evidence quality standards and national accreditation
- Support management with undertaking risk assessments as relevant
- Undertake relevant training
- Other general duties appropriate to the level of responsibility of the post

**3. Personal Specification - essential**
- Educated to NVQ Level II or equivalent in administration
- Understanding of effective office administration procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to customer care
- Experience of supporting volunteers
- Confident with utilising IT, databases, Microsoft Office/Excel, mail merge facilities, websites
- High standard of accuracy
- Able to work on own initiative and unsupervised
- Able to be flexible and adapt services in line with needs
- Commitment to improving services
- Able to analyse information and compile reports for monitoring and evaluation purposes

**4. Person Specification - desirable**
- Interest in gaining new skills relevant to the post
- Experience of social media marketing tools
- Understanding of the dynamics of the voluntary sector and its operating environment
- Experience in collating complex monitoring information
- Understanding of the Quality Standards frameworks relevant to the organisation and the wider community/voluntary sector
- Commitment to the ethos of the charity

**Employer**:Employer for the post is Urban Challenge, contract issued on appointment

**Office base**:Covering Gainsborough & Lincolnwith weekly travel between sites expected

**Responsible to**:Volunteering and Communities Team Lead

**Hours**: 21 hours per week

**Salary**: £20,111 (FTE)

**Pension**: 6% employer salary contribution

**Employee Benefits: Health insurance**

**Contract duration**: Funded until end of March 2024.

**Hours of work**: Mainly Monday to Friday during the day but flexible to the needs of the contract. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

**Holidays**: (29 days + Bank Holidays)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 months
Part-time hours: 21 per week

**Salary**: £20,111.00 per year
