To work as part of a team member, and to provide the children who attend the nursery with a balanced healthy diet.
Main Duties:
- To be aware and respect children’s varying dietary requirements.
- Responsible for the preparation and presentation of all food and drink to the highest standards.
- Ensure that samples of food are taken and frozen for a 2 week period.
- Ensure that temperatures of the food are taken and recorded on the relevant sheet.
- Responsible for following the menu at all times.
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene within the kitchen and all appliances.
- Responsible for the rotation of stock.
- To prepare afternoon snack and tea.
- To prepare a shopping list weekly.
- Defrost freezers regularly, clean out fridges on a weekly basis
- Ensure that that cleaning rota is followed at all times. The kitchen should have a high standard of cleanliness at all times.
- To be aware of the policies and procedures of the nursery and follow and put these into daily practice.
- To maintain a clean and tidy appearance at all times and to wear a hat and apron.
- To attend staff meetings, in-service training and to be prepared to attend further training courses as seen fit by the management team.
N.B This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974). Applicants must be prepared to disclose any convictions they may have, and any orders which have been made against them.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £19,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
