Nursery Cook

**Job Summary**
Barnardo's is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Cook to join our team at Wetherell Nursery. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals and snacks for our children.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and cook meals and snacks for approximately 100 children aged 3 months to 5 years.
- Work closely with our catering team to ensure high standards of meal preparation and presentation.
- Order and collect food from central stores as required.
- Prepare and cook food to be preserved as required.
- Present prepared food for the table.
- Safely use cookers, deep-fat fryers, mixers, kettles, and other kitchen appliances.
- Care for equipment, materials, and utensils to include thorough cleaning and storage after use.
- Help achieve and maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene.
- Respond flexibly in times of need to complete tasks in areas of the service other than your own.
**Requirements:**
- Experience in a similar role, preferably in a childcare or education setting.
- Knowledge of nutrition and meal planning for young children.
- Ability to work well in a team and maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
