About the Role
Barnardo's Wetherell Nursery is seeking a skilled and experienced Nutrition and Meal Preparation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals and snacks for our children.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals and snacks for approximately 100 children aged 3 months to 5 years.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure a high standard of meal preparation and presentation.
- Order, collect, and record food supplies from central stores as required.
- Prepare and cook food to be preserved as needed.
- Present prepared food in an appealing and safe manner.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene in the kitchen.
Requirements
- Experience in food preparation and cooking for large groups.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
