**Job Summary**
This Key position is designed to develop our own and our dealer network personnel in all aspects of mechanical, electrical and connected vehicle technologies. The ability to deliver technical training at the highest level with a full and detailed in-depth understanding of the service environment within our business and our dealer network is vital to our success. Although predominantly a training role there will be a requirement to support the rest of the aftersales team in the areas where an in-depth technical knowledge will help resolve the issue at hand. These areas encompass, but are not limited to, technical, customer relations, service centre and direct regional support.

**Key responsibilities are or will include**:

- Manage the development & maintain new and existing technical training courses for I.M. Group franchise vehicles, currently Subaru, Isuzu and Great Wall ORA.
- Deliver technical training to our dealer network Technicians in line with the I.M. Group training plan.
- Produce on-line training videos.
- Manage the apprentice program working closely with the apprenticeship provider.
- Deliver new product technical training to dealership staff and internal colleagues to support the introduction of new models & product to the UK market.
- Attend Technical & Service training as required by our manufacturer partners.
- Represent I.M. Group at manufacturer training related meetings.
- Develop & manage technical competition events for the UK.
- Represent I.M. Group at Manufacturers World Technical events acting as mentor to the UK contestants.
- Provide technical and customer related support to our dealer network.
- Provide cover for technical and customer support colleagues as and when required.
- Investigate ongoing field concerns & provide supporting information to department personnel to assist with Manufacturer reports and dealer network service bulletins.
- Diagnostic support of customer vehicles when returned to I.M. Group.
- Provide set up & mentor service to new franchise dealers.
- Set up required diagnostic tooling.
- Provide initial Service & Technical Training to Service & Workshop Personnel at dealer premises.
- Mentor dealer Service staff through their first several months working with our franchises by providing Service & workshop support both remotely and at dealer premises as required.
- Agree future training plan for Service & Workshop personnel.
- Develop & maintain special service tooling requirement for the networks ensuring dealers are provided with all necessary tooling and information.
- Monitor dealer tooling requirements on an annual basis and adjust the kit as necessary.
- I.M. Group representative for all IMI (Institute of Motor Industry) related activity.
- Maintain database of technicians on IMI database using IMI Centres Hub.
- Raise IMI certificates for Technician on successful completion of training assessment.
- Run standardisation meetings with training centre assessors ensuring required standards are met.
- Manage & maintain audit trail of courses and test outcomes for dealer network technicians to ensure compliance with IMI requirements.
- Working with dealer development to ensure that prospective dealers meet the required standard from an Aftersales perspective.
- Working with all departments in co-operation with the dealers to inspect and advise on rectification of vehicle issues.
- Assist Line Manager and Dealer Development department with technical sign off
- Communication and teamwork: To develop and maintain professional, positive working relationships with all dealerships, manufacturers and work colleagues.

A minimum 5 years’ experience working within a busy franchise dealer or vehicle manufacturer technical service training role and have experience of working on alternative fuel powered vehicles, have a high-level working knowledge of connected car technology, APP integration and have all relevant BTech or City and Guilds, IMI Automotive Technical Training qualifications or equivalent and have the following skill set.
- Ability and experience in delivering automotive technical training to a minimum of Master Technician level.
- Previous experience of working within an automotive Aftersales Training environment.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to time manage, multi-task, and prioritise
- First class knowledge of all aspects of Dealer Aftersales systems and practices
- Excellent Motor Vehicle mechanical knowledge, by experience and qualification
