**Background**

The Chief Data Office is responsible for KPMG’s Enterprise Data Strategy. The team reports into the Chief Digital Officer and sits within Enterprise Wide Technology (EWT).

The strategic pillars of the CDO are:

- Managing the firm’s data risk
- Building the firm’s data architecture
- Creating trusted data
- Enabling the firm through data innovation

As we are operating both BAU and transformation, the demands on the current Records & Information Governance team are incredibly high, and we need to supplement the team with an additional experienced information management professional.

The role will report into the Head of Information Governance and support as required on the Data Remediation Programme.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the maintenance of the firm’s Records Retention Schedule to reflect the legal, regulatory, and business requirements of the firm
- Understand stakeholder requirements to provide information lifecycle implementation advice to both operational and technical colleagues
- Maintain and enhance the methodology for record inventory management and support oversight of this activity
- Contribute as required to the second line of defence assurance and compliance plan
- Support the second line of defence client assurance and audit process
- Stay abreast of industry best practice in relation to information security governance, risk & compliance
- Promote good information and records management practice and standards across the firm

**KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL**

**Technical Knowledge and qualifications**:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of information and records management
- Experience capturing stakeholder requirements and aligning with information and records management best practice
- Experience writing guidance on the topic of information and records management
- Understanding of risk management
- Ability to communicate clearly and simply, both verbally and in writing
- Experience of working with a professional services organisation a bonus but not a requirement?

**Leadership skills**
- Ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels, in a confident and assured manner
- Ability to prioritize and manage a complex workload
- Strong influencing skills

**Analytical skills**
- Proven ability to identify, articulate, and document information and records management requirements, risks, and issues, and to make clear decisions and recommendations
- Ability to understand business drivers and risk appetite and to align information security compliance accordingly
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
