Salary: Salary from £29,030 plus £6,710 London Weighting p.a.

Statement of expectation for the role:

To be responsible for day-to-day operations of the Force’s archived records, ensuring that records are managed in accordance with force policies and national guidelines. This includes management of the archiving, retrieval and delivery of physical records as well as the review, retention and disposal requirements of physical and digital records.

The successful applicant will provide guidance to users of the records management system, resolve queries and deliver user training ensuring data quality and standards are met.

Description of Department:

The Records Management department is responsible for the safe and secure management of organisational records as well as those created during an investigation. The Records Team ensures that each record can be retrieved when required and follows strict procedures regarding the chain of custody while items are in police care. The Records Team closely monitor the retention requirements of each record and undertakes disposal when appropriate.

The application and interview will be tested under Level 1 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.

This role is open to all Police Staff / external candidates who meet the essential criteria of the person spec, regardless of current grade.
