Service User and Carer Involvement Co-ordinator

In collaboration with the Director and the academic, research or clinical teams, the Service User and Carer Involvement Co-Ordinator will lead and support with the delivery of the People’s Experiences Group (PEG) service user and carer involvement strategy within the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research (OXICPTR).

You will be responsible for patient and public involvement and engagement in all areas of the course across a range of initiatives from recruitment, induction, training and teaching, involvement in research supervision, event planning and attendance related to the post.

The post holder will be required to work closely and collaboratively with a range of people, including patients and the public, research, clinical and administrative staff at all levels within OXICPTR, Oxford Health Foundation Trust and University of Oxford, in addition to charitable organisations.

Resource/Office/Finance Management
- To manage and administer PEG meetings, developing agendas, attending meetings and taking and maintaining records/minutes
- To understand the training requirements of individuals taking part in PEG and contribute to the induction and training process for PEG members.
- To support the delivery of short courses linked to the PEG strategy and work plan.
- To support with organising PEG events as needed, including annual conferences and interim workshops.
- To work with the Finance team to support the financial administration of the PEG budget.
- To support OXICPTR on audits or research activities related to PEG.
- To deputise for the PEG Lead where appropriate.

To support the embedding of PEG within OXICPTR procedures.

To support the establishment of a Child and Young people’s service user and carers group.

Communication and relationship skills
- To communicate sensitively and effectively with other professionals, administrative staff, service users and carers.
- To form productive relationships with others who may be under stress and/or have challenging communication difficulties and support them to engage in PEG.

Policy/ Strategy Responsibility
- To co-lead in the development, co-ordination and implementation of the PEG strategy for OXICPTR
- To support PEG involvement in the following areas of the course: research, academic, clinical, XXXX.
- To work closely with course staff to produce an annual report.
- To engage in the development of research projects to measure impacts of PEG
- To work with relevant communications departments to help develop and update relevant web sites/pages in the promotion of PEG
- To keep up to date on national strategies, initiatives and priorities for service user involvement in Clinical Psychology Training, and flag how these might affect the course.

General
- To travel across the geographical area of OHFT and University where appropriate to engage in PPI activity and meetings
- To be aware of and work in line with all OHFT policies and procedures
- To observe OHFT Equal Opportunities Policy providing equality of treatment and opportunity to employee’s, service users and service providers irrespective of sex, sexuality, age, marital status, ethnic origin or disability
