**Appointment of Chair to the Police Negotiating Board for Scotland**

**Scottish Ministers are looking to appoint a Chair to the Police Negotiating Board for Scotland (PNBS)**

The Police Negotiating Board for Scotland is a new public body in Scotland and is classed as an ‘other significant national body’, replacing the Police Negotiating Board, that used to negotiate pay for Police Officers across the UK. The PNBS will not have staff, own premises, or have a budget, with its main function being the agreement of the pay, terms and conditions of Scottish Police Officers, through negotiation.-
The Chairperson must provide a neutral, independent voice in negotiation in the PNBS and provide support and guidance to members of the SPCF, to have meaningful discussion on a wide range of topics.The Chair of the Police Negotiation Board UK has offered these reflections on his role:

**Remuneration and time commitment**
- Remuneration is
- **£343** per day for a time commitment between
- **15** and
