Patient Pathway Coordinator

A rare opportunity to join the new Targeted Lung Health Check programme, a new and ground-breaking flagship programme of work at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust to improve early diagnosis and survival for those diagnosed with cancer.
People aged over 55 years old but less than 75 years old that have ever smoked will be invited to a free lung check.
This role will be to provide full administrative support for the weekly screening multidisciplinary team meetings (MDT's): taking referrals for patients to be discussed, producing the list of patients to be discussed, ensuring MDT administration is completed.
This will involve liaising closely with both clinical and non-clinical staff. To challenge the progress of patients' journey with all members of the multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) and to actively seek and persuade clinical service providers to alter existing appointments (by prioritising cancer activity) to ensure cancer pathways are maintained, and to track the progress of patients' journey with all members of the MDT and to alert the Management Team of any deviations to normal pathways.
