Permanent position, 1.0 FTE.
The Warwick EPP Group started in 2004 and has grown to a total of 14 academics (including Royal Society, ERC and STFC Rutherford Fellows) driving a research programme that covers Energy Frontier Physics, Quark Flavour Physics, Neutrino Physics, Dark Matter and R&D towards accelerators and detectors for future experiments. The group includes a large number of PDRAs and graduate students, together with dedicated experts in both hardware and software for particle physics. We also work closely with departmental officers for outreach, engagement, knowledge exchange and commercialisation.

**JOB PURPOSE**
To perform experimental research in Experimental Particle Physics.
To teach physics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Research**
1. To pursue internationally-leading research in experimental particle physics.
2. To develop a personal research programme within the Warwick EPP Group, which includes supervising post-doctoral researchers, postgraduate and masters students, technical and other support staff engaged in research.
3. To perform particle physics detector research and development, and data analysis, in collaboration with other group members and external collaborators, as appropriate.
4. To seek and secure, in collaboration with colleagues as appropriate, significant levels of external funding through research grants or contracts to support a developing research programme.
5. To publish research outcomes in peer reviewed journals of high international standing relevant to the field.
6. To attend and present research findings and papers at appropriate international academic and professional conferences.
7. To ensure the results of the research contribute to the research impact agenda through, for example, engagement with industry, the development of intellectual property, public outreach activities, or the contribution to science policy.
8. To contribute to the Department’s research plans. This includes providing such information as may be required by the Department to monitor the progress of each member of staff’s research programme and to support the Department and University fully in the preparation of material required for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) or similar activities.
**Teaching**
9. To teach and supervise physics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
10. To give lectures, seminars, tutorials, and other theoretical or practical classes as appropriate in support of the required teaching obligations and to supervise project work by postgraduate and undergraduate students.
11. To co-operate with colleagues in the continuous review and development of the curriculum.
12. To undertake academic duties (i.e. setting examinations, marking, invigilation and pastoral support of students) required to sustain the delivery of high quality teaching.
**Administration and Other Activities**
13. To undertake such specific roles and management functions as may be reasonably required by the Head of Department.
14. To attend departmental meetings and to participate in other committees and working groups within the Department, Faculty of Science and the University.
15. To engage in continuous professional development.
