Our Shared Service Centre team (SSC) provides essential support to a number of teams across our firm. As well as assisting on large-scale operations, beyond the capacity of a core specialist team, they provide the unparalleled expertise we need to keep moving forward. You’ll be someone who can work pro-actively, managing your own tasks, but you’ll also be confident collaborating with others, communicating regularly with senior managers, Directors, and BDO’s Partners to enable us to serve our clients effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to our clients.
Due to the planned growth of the service demand in back-office support we offer, the Business Support Hub is looking to recruit additional Senior Assistants to support increased workload demand. This team is one of several Hubs within BDO’s Shared Service Centre (SSC) where team members work internally within the business providing back-office support traditionally performed by team secretaries to the client facing members of the firm.
The focus of the role will be to deal with complex queries and requests for a range of workflows across the business support including, document production, arranging business travel, creating client projects on Workday system, and creating invoices for the business.
A challenging and rewarding role were, in addition to being able to fulfil all requirements of the Assistant level job specification (duties set out below) your primary focus will be to:
- Deal with complex and challenging tickets with the support of other team members if required
- Proactively manage your work queue and call out any issues to the team associate
- Support the team Associate in maintaining SLA’s
- Pro-actively engage, build & maintain relationships with requestors
- Become an integral part of the wider business support operation via team huddles, covering for colleagues as and providing feedback coaching to colleagues
- Stepping up as cover for the Associate in their absence as required
Assistant Duties
- Maintain your workloads and flag any issues
- Maintain a high quality of work throughout all processes in line with Quality Assurance frameworks
- Engage with requestors to understand the task if required
- Ensure system knowledge is up to date
- Be open to requests to support other workstreams within the hub where required
- Adhere to the BDO workable framework
- Be open to feedback to improve performance
The role will suit someone who can offer:
- Previous experience in an admin based role
- Excellent attention to detail, literacy & numeracy skills
- Well presented with a professional level of communication - both verbal and written
- Strong time management, organization skills and the ability to priorities and complete tasks with limited supervision.
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Aspirations to become a PA
