This role Is part of a supported accommodation for males who have been experiencing homelessness for various reasons, many of the males we work with come from substance misuse backgrounds, from prison, or have mental health problems. We will offer a wide range of interventions to help prevent future homelessness by giving tenancy-based support.

To work as a team but at times alone providing tenancy sustainment management in supported accommodation, to help male transition into independent living successfully, using restorative practice by putting these males at the centre of all support, to help use restorative practice to help make the transition into independent living.

You will be responsible for working with a group of clients as well as giving daily support to males aged 18 and over, many will have complex needs. Your role will be to support these males through the hours of 9:00am-10:00pm helping them to develop independent skills providing a safe and secure environment. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the building is monitored throughout the day and is safe and secure, completing care plans, risk assessments, HMO management jobs and various other duties.

**Key responsibilities**

**Service delivery**
- Work alongside the client to develop and implement a support plan and risk assessments.
- Encourage clients to complete actions within their support plan and following this up to ensure that goals are reached.
- Build up professional relations with clients allowing for effective management and informed decisions.
- Induct referrals into the project, including housing benefit claims, universal credit updates and maintaining an inclusive approach. Prepare accommodation for clients and settle hem in by showing practical tasks.
- Work positively and assertively with clients around expectations and aspirations.
- Liaise and support external agencies such as police, social workers and probation officers.
- Facilitate the support in areas such as domestic skills, life skills, budgeting, personal hygiene, benefit awareness etc.
- Ensure all records are maintained in line with policies and procedures and ensure these are submitted to the relevant individual.
- Respond to emergencies and prioritise workload.
- Work in a manner that reflects to boundaries of the role.
- Supporting the client to manage areas such as tenancy-based activities, help with budgeting, how to be a good neighbour and some form of emotional support.
- Complete health and safety and maintenance check which are required weekly such as fire alarm testing, full cleaning, HMO management jobs, completing full health and safety checks and reporting anything to management.
- Complete full daily room checks, ensuring all healthy and safety is adhered to and that the room is free from drugs, alcohol and visitors.

**Independent living skills**:

- Ensure there are learning opportunities for clients to be able to develop skills that will aid a tenancy such as cooking and budgeting.
- Ensuring that the client Is aware of things that can affect the tenancy such as tenancy agreements, taking tenancy action and rent arrears.
- Providing a clean, safe and secure shared space where clients can meet with staff and other professionals.

**Safeguarding**:

- Ensure the welfare of the client is at the forefront of the support delivered and that risks are identified.
- Ensure that support plans and risk assessments are completed within correct timescales and reviewed in the correct timescales.
- Ensure all meetings are attended.

**Cash handling**:

- Support the client with looking at grants for white goods.
- Responsible for rent payments and on time collections.
- Responsible for handling petty cash.

**Team working**:

- To work in a supportive collaborative manner with colleagues and other professionals.
- Ensure that relevant information is communicated to managers and other agencies as needed but ensuring data protection is followed.
- Organise client activities.
- Facilitate engagement with the organisation’s other projects.
- Responding and dealing with support needs or urgent or crisis situations.
- Representing FSP in a professional manner.

**General**:

- Take part in regular reflective supervision to ensure the maintenance of a good quality service and professional development.
- To attend and complete any training allocated.
- To attend any meetings deemed as necessary by management.
- To contribute to the effective monitoring and evaluation of the service and evidence outcomes.
- To work within the organisations policy and procedures.
- Always represent FSP in a professional manner by upholding values.

The role will involve lone working.

To be available to work weekends on a rota and preferably a car driver with access to own car.
