RSR are currently recruiting on behalf of our policing client based in Staffordshire for a Accounts Payable Officer.

This is a full time, 12 months fixed term contract and offers a salary of £23,835 - £27,690.

**Main Duties**:

- Ensure invoices received are appropriately matched to a purchase order.
- Work with the purchasing team to address why an invoice has been received without a purchase order.
- Ensure supplier payments are in line with agreed terms and conditions.
- Effectively manage disputed invoices with the business to ensure any dispute can be resolved.
- Manage the accounts payable ledger to ensure there is robustness in all ledger balances.
- Where an invoice does not have a purchase order ensure that invoices are appropriately authorised in a timely manner.
- Resolve invoice queries with suppliers as appropriate.
- Ensure performance is in line with appropriate KPI’s.
- Prepare monthly aged creditor reports with appropriate commentary.
- Support the year end closedown process with a robust analysis.
- Undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Relevant experience in purchase ledger administration.
- Ability to interpret organisational policy to ensure compliance is maintained.
- Relevant understanding of a purchase order system with knowledge of relevant transaction flows.
- An understanding of a purchase ledger procedures.
- Demonstrate a track record of providing a high quality, customer focused financial service.
