**As a **Senior User Researcher **your main responsibilities would be**:
- works with their team to define the best approach for user research drawing on skills, knowledge, and experience in user-centred design to identify the best options.
- plans and leads user research sessions with diverse populations, using a wide toolset, engaging their team in the research.
- performs analysis of research in collaboration with their team, presenting findings to the team and stakeholders which determine the priority of needs in the product or service.
- The User Researcher will lead on design/UX review of products. Activities will include but are not limited to:
- Complete User Research with the Emergency Care Medical and Nursing staff within the selected London trust to establish the clinical information needs for IUCDS CAS to ED pilot.
- Conduct user research to inform the design and development of the interactive dashboards using linked data to support operational and clinical decision-making.
- Contribute to design and delivery of qualitative research for the monitoring and evaluation of the initiatives within the 111 services.
- Support UEC Standards Roadmap NHSx commission by considering and defining business perspectives using user researcher best practice in order to support the definition of the UEC interoperability future state.
- Support Patient Encounter History NHSx commission by completing user researcher activities in support of the options appraisal.
- Work with specific roles within the team such as Business Analysts, Data Analysts and Developers to embed service and UX design into the product.
Work on the design deliverables for the Data Insights and UIT teams, by providing and implementing a mix of new standards & specifications, and through the development of new products or services.
**You’ll have relevant experience in**:
- Substantial experience of conducting research with a design or user experience focus.
- Experience of working with digital teams, especially designers and product managers.
- Considerable experience of implementing the full research lifecycle from designing research, to planning, implementation, recruitment, conducting research, analysing data, eliciting findings and communicating recommendations.
- Demonstrable experience of conducting and leading discovery research as well as research to test hypotheses and prototypes.
- Proven ability to communicate confidently within the scope of the role’s responsibilities by using appropriate tools and language (this may be of a technical nature) to a varied audience of internal and external stakeholders.
- Motivates individuals/team to achieve challenging goals whilst providing appropriate support tools and clear direction to keep the project on track Experience leading and facilitating joint analysis sessions with non - research colleagues.
- Can prioritise findings and work with the product team to identify actions and recommendations.
- Uses multiple data sources to triangulate understanding of behaviour.
- Ability to present research and communicate findings to non-researchers
- Experience of conducting research with diverse populations, including vulnerable people.
- Ability to use a range of software, tools and methods (e.g., online survey and remote user testing software, thematic analysis, basic data analysis etc.) to conduct user research analysis in order to make robust recommendations.
- Ability to analyse and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data and choose appropriate methods to do so.
- Proven experience of using a variety of qualitative and quantitative research techniques and an understanding of how the two approaches complement each other.
- Proven experience of quantitative research activities such as: questionnaire design and analysis of quantitative data.
- Proven experience of qualitative research activities such as: interview design, moderation, usability testing, facilitating workshops, contextual enquiry, co-design, ethnographic research.
- Confident in presenting research findings to non - research colleagues.
- Experience of managing external research suppliers to ensure successful delivery of products and services.
- Experience of leading research within an agile multi-disciplinary team with product owners, content designers, visual designers
- Experience of conducting usability testing sessions: designing tasks and scenarios, using a range of tools to collect data, and providing recommendations supported by evidence such as video, graphs, tables and pictures.
