**Job Description**:
Location: Luton

- Previous experience of working in the NHS is welcome but not essential.
- Effective IT skills are an advantage.
- Responding to patient queries and liaising with the wider primary care team.
- Managing appointment requests and signposting patients to our range of services.
- Maintaining patient records and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Utilising other information systems to support efficient workflow processes.
- Processing prescription requests in a timely manner.
- Supporting patient health promotion recall campaigns.
- Encouraging uptake of our digital tools to support patient self-care.
- Taking part in all mandatory training, annual appraisal and continued education, learning and development.
- To provide an efficient copy typing and word processing service for GPs and Health Professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, etc. in an accurate and quality manner.
- To make appointments, bookings as required.
- To be responsible for ensuring the practice participation in referrals through the e referral system.
- To check and maintain the e referral system daily.
- To be responsible for arranging and taking minutes of the meetings.
- To maintain action log and chase responses.
- To establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure.
- To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
- To assist with cover for members of the admin team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
- To type medical reports/letters and to assist with completion of medical/insurance paperwork.

To be considered for this exciting role you must have:
Reception or customer care experience is essential

The person must be an excellent communicator both spoken and written

Must be able to work within processes/procedures

E-Referral experience preferred
