A brilliant opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join a well-known Estate on the outskirts of Malton. A salary of up to £26,000 is on offer alongside a 31 days holiday (including bank holidays), generous pension contribution and employee discount.

As Finance Assistant, your main focus will be the Accounts Receivable function of the business, alongside providing wider support to the general Finance Team.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, key responsibilities of the Finance Assistant will include:

- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliation.
- Preparation and posting of monthly journals to the accounting system.
- Ensure that the ledgers are kept in good order and any discrepancies on accounts are investigated.
- Ensure adherence to end-of-month deadlines.
- Reconciliation of daily till takings and upload journal to the accounting system.
- The creation of sales ledger invoices, ensuring correct accounting for VAT and nominal ledger coding.
- Regular review of outstanding debts and action necessary for payment chasing.
- Processing weekly customer direct debit mandates and submitting monthly collections.
- Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Finance Manager, to assist in the general running of the department.

We are keen to speak with individuals who have previous experience in a similar position, you may be a Finance Assistant, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable or General Ledger Clerk with general accounting experience, or a Finance Officer, Finance Administrator, Accounts Administrator or Accounts Assistant looking for a new role, where you are comfortable being responsible for high-volume invoicing.

To be successful in this Finance Assistant opportunity, you will ideally:

- Hold an accountancy qualification such as your AAT/ACCA/ACA/CIMA or have equivalent experience.
- Have proven, relevant experience of working with invoicing and dealing with AR function of a business.
- Possess good IT skills and accountancy software knowledge, such as Sage, Xero or Quickbooks. Ideally, you will also have good MS Office Excel skills too.
- Experience gained within an SME or owner-managed business would be advantageous but is not essential.

Based on the outskirts of Malton, this role is commutable from Pickering, Malton, Sheriff Hutton, Flaxton, Amotherby, Norton, York, Helmsley, Easingwold and surrounding areas. Due to the remote location of this role, it is not accessible via public transport and so the successful individual must have access to a vehicle.
