**Job Title**:Tax and Accountancy Senior/Manager.

We are looking to recruit a Tax/Accountancy Senior/Manager who is qualified and has had practical experience within practice.

The role will be a combination of managing an office along with a small team ranging from admin to senior level staff. You will be mainly responsible for organising the office, the admin/accountancy team and providing tax consultancy advice. Also the preparationof clients accounts ranging from sole traders, partnerships and limited companies as well as completion of the tax returns. In addition providing advice to clients on various accounting and taxation matters as required.

**Key responsibilities**

Managing/monitoring staff workload as well as your own in the following areas:

- Providing tax advice and dealing with client consultancy as and when required
- Preparation of monthly Management Accounts using various accounting software such as SAGE, Quickbooks, TASBooks (training to be provided where necessary)
- Preparation of annual accounts and working papers to an excellent standard, for approval by the partner overseeing the assignment
- Preparation of corporation tax computations and tax returns for Limited Companies
- Preparation of business tax computations for sole traders and partnerships
- Completion of self assessment returns for individuals and partnerships
- Monthly Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns to be completed and filed
- Bookkeeping from client records to produce VAT Returns
- Competent on Xero, Sage, TASBooks and/or Taxcalc (training to be provided where necessary)
- Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients

Have practical experience in dealing with all tax matters and providing consultancy to clients when required. Relevant qualifications in this area would be preferable but not essential.

Be pro-active in growing the practice with the prospective introduction of new business.

To promptly report to partners any concerns which may affect the firm’s client relationship e.g. money laundering, unethical business practice, complaints

To respect client confidentiality and report any issues which may affect client relationships to the partner overseeing assignment

Occasional general office duties when required

We are situated on the A34 Walsall Road (opposite Selco), off the Rocky Lane Junction, near Junction 7 of M6.

Public transport available to City Centre and other locations, parking is available at the front and back of the office.

**Hours per week**:37.50

9am to 5.30pm with an hour’s lunch between 1pm to 2pm

**a)Qualities**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to manage own workload and prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines
- Able to manage a small team from Admin to Senior level in order to ensure assignments are completed correctly, with accuracy and within efficient timescales
- Hardworking individual who is able to work on own initiative but also under instruction
- Have a professional manner and be able to supervise and work well with others

**b)Competency/Technical skills needed**:

- At least 5 years relevant accountancy and taxation post qualification experience in practice.
- Excellent experience of managing a small team in an accountancy office
- Excellent IT skills - Microsoft Excel, Word, Xero, Sage, Quickbooks, TASBooks and Taxcalc would be preferable but not essential.
- Excellent knowledge of accountancy standards and taxation rules
- Payroll experience is preferred but not mandatory

**c)Qualifications required**
- Qualified with the ACCA or ACA qualification. In addition relevant taxation qualifications would be preferable but not essential
