**ROLE PURPOSE**

To ensure that the Glory and OneBanx businesses are adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies. This involves supporting the General Counsel - Data and Technology, and external advisers, to support top-line growth and bottom-line efficiencies. As a key part of the compliance process, the role will include monitoring Onebanx's activities, identifying any potential risks or compliance issues, and taking corrective action to ensure that the business is compliant with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements. The role is also responsible for implementing internal controls, providing guidance and training on compliance matters, reviewing compliance data and conducting internal audits to ensure that the company is meeting its compliance obligations.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Managing drafting, evaluation & negotiation through to execution of a variety of commercial agreements, review of customer proposed terms and conditions working closely with the commercial teams and General Counsel - Data and Technology to provide comprehensive legal support across the region.
- Perform risk assessments and reviews to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor changes in legislation and advise management of necessary compliance measures.
- Develop, implement and review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Manage compliance activities and report to the OneBanx Board and Audit and Risk Committee on the adequacy and effectiveness of the risk management process, identifying areas to mitigate and remedial actions, including driving implementation as applicable.
- Liaise with the relevant external bodies to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Exercise oversight over governance, risk, compliance, and control arrangements.
- Provide training to staff on areas such as financial crime and data protection.
- Monitor compliance by company employees with established procedures to identify areas of recurrent pressure or friction for improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant FCA authorisations and coordinate with OneBanx’s regulated payment service provider (Nuapay).
- General support including compiling and distributing a variety of high-level reports, both internally
- and externally.
- Support Data Protection matters (GDPR standard) across the Group to ensure robust compliance.

**REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education Level**:

- Excellent knowledge of the banking industry regulations and laws, as well as data protection laws.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, proven ability to manage external counsel and internal clients.
- Strong legal and commercial awareness and the ability to deal with problems in a pragmatic and logical way.
