Demonstrate the delivery of high-quality care as an expert practitioner, and act as a role model at all times. Support and inspire staff to provide high quality care to patients and to implement evidence-based patient care. Work alongside the senior nursing teams on their ward to encourage and enable improved patient care. Create and maintain positive working relationships within clinical teams whilst monitoring and appraising performance.

Be a visible presence in the clinical settings to act as a point of contact for staff, providing support, advice and guidance. To contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines. Under the guidance of the lead nurse for clinical education/ or the academy develop, co-ordinate and deliver study days for their wards and depts. Facilitate, deliver, and evaluate a range of multi-professional education and training programmes to ensure that clinical staff of all specialties and grades acquire knowledge and skills, including mandatory training.

Initiate the creation of optimal and varied learning environments and opportunities for training for all specialties and grades of staff within and external to the Trust, in all locations. Provide real time in situ training for staff in clinical areas to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge. Coach learners in the clinical environment to adopt new ways of working to improve the care they deliver. Create a dynamic environment conducive to learning and the professional development of staff and students including overseeing the development and maintenance of learning resources and materials.

Contribute to the delivery of themed education campaigns to improve knowledge around specific topics. Identify and celebrate good practice and share with local teams. Participate in collaborative groups and networks as appropriate to add knowledge and expertise to assist in improving the patient care. Contribute to relevant quality improvement and research projects, including data collection, supporting change in clinical practice, evaluating outcomes, and writing reports.

To ensure all new learners are supported in the acquisition and competency of the relevant skills to enable the appropriate care provision of patients within their specialty. Provide senior clinical knowledge and support with the completion competencies and ensure that they are recorded on ESR via the academy. Assist and advise mentors in the appraisal process with the identification, implementation, and achievement of personal development plans. Communicate effectively with colleagues and outside organisations and agencies Promote patient safety and high-quality patient care in line with local clinical governance and risk management policies Work with mínimal supervision and coordinate own activities to ensure that an efficient service is provided.

Maintain own clinical professional practice and keep up to date with best practice and new developments. Be competent in the use of use appropriate technology for training and education, including simulation equipment, VDU equipment and a personal computer. To provide pastoral care and signpost staff to relevant pathways. To support and educate our staff around the work of our carbon footprint and sustainability.
