When they came across a lonely, isolated 16-year-old who called himself a failure, they knew what to do. They worked 1-2-1 to find the thing this boy really loved. YouTube, it turned out. But it’s impossible to turn that into a career, right? Wrong. A week later, he was enrolled on the British Film Institute film-making programme. It was the ultimate light-bulb moment. And it turned him into what he is today - a budding Spielberg with a world of opportunity at his feet.

**The Role**:
As our City Promotions, Events and Filming Officer, you’ll make your own powerful contribution to bringing creative visions to life. From Notting Hill Carnival to the Chinese New Year, the London Marathon to Trooping the Colour, Westminster is one of the busiest settings in the UK for events. We are also an iconic location for film crews: Westminster has appeared in feature films, TV dramas, commercials, music videos and fashion shoots.

Working as part of a close-knit, dynamic and diverse team of 12, you’ll help us co-ordinate and facilitate a diverse range of events, filming and promotional activity. You’ll be a key point of contact for event organisers and location managers, guiding them through the planning and permissions processes. You’ll also work closely with local communities, helping to keep them safe and minimising disruption. Liaison with the emergency services and transport services will be required.

We have a packed schedule so it’s a fast-paced and highly demanding environment. Expect to work on multiple projects at the same time, dealing with competing deadlines and fast changing situations.

**About You**:
To succeed, you need to be energetic, hard-working and highly organised with an eye for detail. With strong interpersonal skills, you’ll have the ability to build successful working relationships and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Hands-on experience of event management or on-street filming, and/or training in health and safety, would be beneficial. Quick on your feet, ready to adapt and be creative in your problem-solving, you’ll be skilled at working as part of a team. Some weekend and evening working will be required.
