But it’s impossible to turn that into a career, right? Wrong. A week later, he was enrolled on the British Film Institute film-making programme. It was the ultimate light-bulb moment. And it turned him into what he is today - a budding Spielberg with a world of opportunity at his feet.

**The Role**:
As a Strategy & Performance Officer you can make your own powerful contribution.
It’s the context that really sets this challenge apart. Our Borough contributes £72bn to the UK’s economy and welcomes 25 million tourists each year - while supporting 767,000 jobs. In short, it’s strategy and performance with enormous weight.
You’ll collaborate closely with Directorates across the Council to measure and understanding the impact of services and projects. And by producing detailed management information - from our Quarterly Performance Report to updates on the Fairer Westminster Delivery Plan - you’ll deliver insights that drive our strategy and annual delivery plans.
The small, diverse, high-performing team are always busy. However, there’ll also be time to both develop your expertise and think longer-term - and harness tools that make it easier for colleagues to access information, and increase transparency for residents.

**About You**:
It’s important you’ve some knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI or a similar data-driven dashboard. And it’s likely you’ve used a range of information sources to write reports before - ideally around risk, horizon scanning and performance management.
You’ll be curious and proactive and flexible in your approach: able to both see the big picture and interrogate the fine details.
Equally important is your natural gravitas. We’re looking for someone who’ll quickly become a business partner for teams across the Council. A confident communicator with the confidence to present findings to our leadership - and passionately advocate for solutions that best suit our communities.
