As a Flood Risk Officer you will play a key role in the effective management of our communities flood risk. This could be through the inception and development of flood alleviation schemes which reduce risk in our communities, helping to ensure the business is ready to respond to incidents by training staff and improving our procedures, working with customers and partners across the North East or analysing and managing data which underpins everything we do.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
- The team- The Flood & Coastal Risk Management departments are made up of multiple teams who work together to manage flood risk in the North East, we currently have officer vacancies in the following teams:

- The Partnerships & Strategic Overview team which supports the delivery of our capital projects and regulates work around our rivers.
- Experience/skills required- You will be a confident communicator, with excellent customer service skills and be comfortable working with internal/external partners and members of the public. Your enthusiasm/ambition and good organisational skills will help you to achieve defined deadlines and targets. You are happy to work on your own initiative or as part of a wider team.
