**Are you passionate about sewing and helping customers?**
- selling goods and products proactively and competently to provide customers with an exemplary end to end shopping experience, to achieve repeat sales through customer loyalty and enhanced reputation in the industry.
- As a trainee Seamstress, you will learn to alter menswear, suits and trousers, and ladies wear, dresses etc., including bridal and evening wear for customers and making any changes required to ensure the customer is happy and receives the highest quality service.
- Your role will also involve maintenance of the website and input to the Facebook page, blog, Instagram, newsletter, and other social media. You will largely be responsible for overseeing and dealing with online sales arising from e-commerce on the company’s website/s.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Greeting and serving customers face-to-face and on the telephone; answering queries
- Providing customers with specialist advice, help and guidance
- Encouraging customers to buy
- Building customer loyalty and generating repeat custom
- Handling payments
- Progressing telesales through data entry to dispatch
- Recording all sales on the daily sales sheets
- Receiving, progressing and recording new stock
- Signing in, returning, and taking payment for alterations and dry cleaning
- Checking garments on receipt for flaws / marks and record these accordingly to avoid customer complaint
- Managing and caring for customers’ clothing in accordance with Amble Pin Cushion’s policy
- Taking customer orders; measuring customers, arranging fittings and making alterations and adjustments; assessing size and timescale of jobs
- Managing own workload to ensure customer orders are completed to agreed timescales and deadlines
- Liaising with the Managing Director as necessary, e.g. on stock ordering; initiating stock orders to improve business and the customer offer

**Special duties/requirements**:

- Regular weekend work
- Occasional evening and off-site work
- To assist colleagues as directed.

**Requirements**:
**Personal requirements**
- sewing and crafting, including use of patterns.
- Aware of trends; interest in the industry
- Awareness of Equality legislation and commitment to the principles
- Knowledge and experience of a range of yarns and fabrics and notions, their different usages and qualities

**Qualifications**
- English GCSE or equivalent
- Math GCSE or equivalent
