The School of Geosciences is seeking to recruit a motivated and experienced individual to undertake the role of Buildings Support Officer (Drummond St). This position will report to the Deputy Head of Technical Services within the School’s Physical Resources & Technical Services Team at the University of Edinburgh.

**The Opportunity**:
The post-holder will be responsible for all day-to-day activities related to the management of a group of buildings on our city centre campus. This includes maintenance, Health & Safety, security and organisational issues relevant within functional public buildings.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- Ability to support a broad range of users, dealing with their requests promptly and appropriately.
- Confidence to work independently using good judgement and problem solving skills to resolve issues within your remit.
- Experience dealing with contractors to resolve infrastructure issues, willingness to liaise with University Estates department about ongoing work and to monitor outcomes.
- Awareness of Health and Safety issues and practices associated with public buildings.
- Good IT skills (e.g. web based reporting tools, Microsoft Office Excel, Teams).
- Excellent inter-personal skills and desire to work with others, including fellow technical staff, academic staff, and PhD and undergraduate research students
