**The Vacancy**

We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to join our Buying team as an **Assistant Buyer on a 12-month FTC **based at our Support Centre in Worksop 1 to 2 days a week and then working remotely.

As our **Assistant Buyer - Cleaners**, you’ll join a team who ensure our offering to our customer is always hitting the spot. Working in the future through trend analysis you'll join multiple internal teams to get the right products for wilko whilst making an impact on the sustainability of our offering.

Taking huge pride in what you do, your role will involve identifying and select suppliers from a UK and worldwide supply base, negotiating the cost price and defining the initial retail selling price. You’ll also:

- Manage the ongoing relationships for relevant ranges and supporting with or own some of the annual business plans and terms agreements with those suppliers.
- Responsible for improving margin delivery by driving supplier income (“rebates”). Owning the ‘better buying’ targets for your categories, including driving cost reductions and moving supplier income into improved ongoing costs.
- Plan, negotiate and load promotions for relevant category, working in conjunction with the Merchandising and Promotions teams.
- Accountable for co-ordinating and executing the agreed supplier funding (price, promotion, retro’s & rebates) for those categories managed by the Senior Buyer.
- Accountable for ensuring products are set up ‘Right First Time’ with a true customer-centric lens applied, so we help our customers to deliver their ‘jobs to be done’ and at the best prices, to protect their hard-earned cash.
- Responsible for delivering strong milestone management for all projects and work with supply chain to ensure OTIF (on time, in full) delivery of ranges. Working cross-functionally, and with suppliers, to solve problems and ensure we deliver ‘Right First Time’

For this role we need someone who has at least 3 years’ experience as an Assistant Buyer or within a similar role; ideally working within the Cleaners category. Who has strong excel skills, spreadsheets and an analytical approach will be your go to. Your organisational skills will be second to none and working at pace with priorities changing at the drop of a hat will be what keeps you energised. You'll always have a plan A but also a B&C just in case stock isn't on track and have a stakeholder management approach that gains people's buy in.
