**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assist in managing relationships with existing suppliers for timber and other consumables.
- Continuously seek out opportunities to reduce costs and improve procurement processes
- Support the negotiation of favorable terms and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost-saving targets
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure timely delivery of goods
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and pricing to make informed procurement decisions
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and cost savings achieved
- Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies
**Requirements**:
- 2-3 years of experience in procurement, ideally within the manufacturing or construction industry
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build effective supplier relationships
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Confidence in making procurement decisions and driving cost-saving initiatives
- Good telephone manner and proficiency in MS Office
- Willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and get things done
- Proven track record of achieving cost savings through effective procurement strategies
- Experience in sourcing and procuring timber, ironmongery, glazing and other materials used in garden buildings
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive to continuously improve processes and deliver results
- Able to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively

- Those who are uncomfortable negotiating with suppliers or lack the confidence to drive cost savings
- Individuals who struggle to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Those who are not able to work independently or as part of a team
