**ROLE DETAILS**:
**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice helps babies, children and young people who are seriously unwell make the most of every day. You’ll be predominantly based in The Ark, our stunning building set in a north London nature reserve. The Ark is a place of laughter and real connection, with an atmosphere that’s both supportive and inclusive. This is a really exciting time to join our growing and ambitious team as we look to expand the fundraising team.

We are looking for an individual with excellent customer service experience, who can proactively engage, build relationships and provide high levels of stewardship to a variety of community groups. You will also have the ability to efficiently work on our new database ‘Beacon’ which will be key to Noah’s Ark’s growth and sustainability.

The successful applicant will be responsible for day-to-day engagement with a large portfolio of community groups, including promoting and encouraging community members to sign up to a range of fundraising campaign and products. You will play a key role in engaging and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

The Community Engagement Officer will work closely with the Community Engagament Manager and Senior Head of Supporter Engagement, to manage and develop the Community Giving pipeline. You will play an instrumental part in creatively engaging supporters to get involved in our high-value campaigns, events and regular giving programme. This includes our annual matched-funding campaign and reoccuring giving programmes. The post-holder will be key in taking the Community Giving programme to the next level, providing proactive engagement opportunities and efficiently work with data to provide timely, targeted, relevant and engaging communications to our various community groups.

**ABOUT YOU**:
You will be a dedicated, organised and reliable individual with a ‘can do’ attidtude and a real determination to succeed. You will have a solutions-focused outlook and have the ability to listen and read people in a variety of situations, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

You will be an exceptional, eloquent communicator, a natural relationship builder. You will have the ability to prioritise your time and workload effectively to meet tight deadlines. Experience of managing a portfolio of community groups or experince within a customer service role is desirable, as well as using a CRM database system.

**iNVESTMENT IN FUNDRAISING, MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS**:
At Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice we are undertaking a major investment in our fundraising marketing & Communications capability. The team will grow from 13 posts to 20 over the next few months.

The charity has an enviable record in raising funds from philanthropy and trusts, but aims to diversify income by growing public fundraising, in particular community fundraising and regular giving. The majority of the investment is aimed at increasing capacity across all three sub-teams (Philanthropy & Partnerships, Public Fundraising, Marketing & Communications) but there is also a need to add to our skills base, for example, in media and public relations.

While the charity has existed since 1999 and had provided services in the community since 2006, Noah’s Ark really got going in 2020 when its first Hospice building was completed. This followed a major capital appeal which raised over £10m and benefited from many millions of pounds worth of gifts in kind and corporate donations. The end result is probably the most advanced children’s hospice building in the UK. A truly state of the art facility, which creates a wonderful light and airy space for the families that use our services and a fantastic working environment for all staff. The building is on the edge of Barnet and is placed within a 7 acre nature reserve, ideal for lunchtime walks. Our team has the advantage of working in the same building as colleagues delivering care, creating strong cross-team collaboration.

The charity has seen a steady increase in annual income over recent years, with a target for 2023/24 of £5.1m. Around 80% of our income is expected to come from philanthropy, trusts and corporate, with the remaining 20% coming from public fundraising. Like many Children’s Hospices our income from statutory sources is very low at less than 10%. A key component to our fundraising strategy is matched funding in the form of a 72 hr campaign which takes place each autumn and raises over £1m. Pledges from major donors and trusts are matched against donations from the pu
