Working closely with the Corporate Responsibility Manager, you'll play a vital role in making sure everything runs smoothly.

Corporate Responsibility is part of our core values, so you'll be on the front line, celebrating best practice with industry bodies, NGO's, retailers and suppliers. You will be considered a specialist in your given field and will be immersed in a wide variety of different tasks involving putting proposals together, training new staff members and liaising with stakeholders.

An opportunity has arisen to join a highly motivated team, all of whom have a drive for implementing change at every level and in every part of the business.

This is a permanent Operational (Food and Non-Food) waste Assistant role within the Corporate Responsibility Communities Team in an area that receives a lot of attention, internally and externally. This role will report into the CR Communities Manager and will be central to delivering Aldi’s wider Food Waste Reduction strategy.

**Your New Role**
- Support the Food Waste Analyst with reporting and analyses of Aldi GB and IE’s Operational Food Waste data
- Support with quarterly and annual Food Waste reporting information and communication across the business (Managing Director Memos, GMD Sign-Off, MDM)
- Manage the submission of Aldi’s annual IAP Operational waste reporting
- Engage with and manage queries from Regional CR Leads on Neighbourly and Too Good To Go
- Manage the day-to-day relationships with Neighbourly, Too Good To Go, SWRnewstar and WEEE waste supplier
- Be the key point of contact for our National waste contract and monitoring commercial SLA’s
- Implement Aldi’s Food Waste Reduction Strategy
- Support with the development and rollout of Food and Non-Food waste reduction initiatives
- Conduct visits to Stores and RDCs to develop in detail understanding of opportunities for waste reduction
- Support with upcoming waste legislation changes, e.g Deposit Return Scheme
- Proactively develop own knowledge of topics, demonstrating initiative and suggesting ways of increasing Operational waste reduction
- Carry out research and media monitoring for trends and competitor activity
- Maximise colleague engagement and buy-in for waste reduction initiatives
- Maximise external (PR and Marketing) communication opportunities and campaigns

**About You**
- GCSE or equivalent passed in English and Maths
- Knowledge of how Operational Food and Non-Food waste is produced in a retail environment
- CR experience with a particular focus on Food or Non-Food Waste or a relatable field
- Quantitative and qualitative analytical capability
- Exceptional Project Management
- Ability to identify, develop and drive initiatives to support the specific aims and objectives of the team and in relation to wider competitor / industry drivers
- Possess well-developed communication skills with the ability to present to internal and external audiences in a simple and meaningful way
- Deliver regular report writing, business cases and briefing papers
- Able to prioritise effectively - managing multiple projects at once
- Able to build strong relationships both internally and externally
- Strong attention to detail and tracking of costs / savings
- Able to work to tight deadlines and be flexible to business requirements
- Able to plan ahead with a strong sense of personal organisation
- Enjoys working as part of a dynamic team

**What You’ll get in Return**
- Salary starting from £34,690 rising to £40,510
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working
