We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Pathology department. We are looking for a confident, motivated and hardworking individual to work within a well-equipped and progressive Cellular Pathology laboratory, which processes approximately 35,000 samples per year. Our work contributes to initial detection and diagnosis of cancer and other diseases both in Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust and the wider local community.

This post is based at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester and is part-time. This role is for 18.75 hours per week, ideally covering Monday, Thursday and Friday, however, the spread of hours and days can be negotiable.

You will be working as part of an office team under the supervision of Biomedical Scientists and other administrative and laboratory staff members.

This role involves performing a range of tasks that contribute to diagnostic cancer pathways including co-ordination of patient samples for referred tests, collation of patient reports and slides for multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussion, and management of the department's tissue block and slide archives.

Excellent organisation and communication skills are required for this fast paced and crucial role within the department. Previous Pathology or NHS experience would be advantageous but are not essential.

The central Histology laboratory service is situated on the Royal Hampshire Hospital site in Winchester with a small satellite team based at the Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital.
