About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our diagnostic services, working closely with Biomedical Scientists, a MLA team leader, and clinical staff.

Main Responsibilities

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing a range of tasks that contribute to the diagnostic service, including sample handling, preparation, and tracking.
  • Providing consultant support during specimen dissection.
  • Entering patient data and maintaining equipment.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Literacy and numeracy to at least GCSE or equivalent level.
  • Experience of dealing with sensitive information.
  • Ability to work both individually or as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow complex procedures.
