To be an enthusiastic member of the Community Paediatric Therapy team based at West Acklam Centre demonstrating a range of skills to meet the needs of the children and families in a safe, caring environment. Excellent communication skills are required to work with children and young people of school age under appropriate supervision of a Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist.

There is a requirement to travel around the Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland locality to visit children in a variety of settings.

Hold a designated clinical caseload working within agreed departmental protocols.

The post holder will be expected to develop knowledge and skills within the speciality and will assist in the management and delivery of care.

The post holder has a duty of care to patients and is expected to comply fully with all Trust policies in particular policies relating to personal and patient safety and the prevention of healthcare associated infections.
- Undertake a supporting community therapy role in the treatment of school children until the age of leaving college.
- To liaise daily with other members of the Paediatric Therapies team, reporting back to Therapists about the sessions completed with the children.
- Travel between different clinics, schools and colleges to ensure that the children/young people are seen in the most appropriate environment.
- Complete therapy programmes or intervention with children under the advice of a therapist.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in the child’s digital records.
- Ability to travel independently as community visits to various locations are a requirement of the post.

The South Tees Paediatric Therapy Service is based within the community setting of West Acklam Centre. It provides Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy to children and young people aged from 0-19years with a wide variety of conditions.

We are a friendly, enthusiastic, forward-thinking team dedicated to providing the best possible therapy service to the children, young people and their families within the Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland region.

The team works closely with other health, education, social care and charitable sector professionals.
