DUE TO CONTINUED EXPANSION WE’RE HIRING Trainee Purchaser

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and career minded individual to help strengthen and develop the purchasing department, in our fast paced manufacturing environment. The role is based in the admin department and will involve working closely with the Production Controller to ensure that all incoming purchase requisitions are managed in a timely manner. You will be liaising with sheet metal suppliers, ordering the best price materials, placing purchase orders to meet planned production deadlines.

This role is a trainee position, and therefore we need somebody who is highly efficient, organised, IT proficient and has excellent attention to detail.

**Key Responsibilities**
- To source the correct products at the best value taking into consideration cost, lead time and quality.
- Acknowledge and react to purchasing requests in a timely manner.
- Obtain quotes from suppliers to obtain the best value.
- Negotiate better prices where possible.
- Create purchase orders on Sage and ensure order acknowledgments
- Create new product codes where required.
- Print copy of purchase order and note the time and date the p/o was sent.
- Follow up to vendors with phone call to confirm p/o has been received.
- Check order confirmations are correct.
- Confirm lead time on all orders and follow up to ensure orders are delivered on time.
- Ensure materials price spreadsheet is kept up to date.
- Produce and circulate weekly/monthly stock/purchasing reports.
- Scan in previous job packs

- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience working with Sage preferable.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
