Drive Motor Retail is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Assistant Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an accounts background who is eager to develop their skills and pursue a career in accounting within the automotive industry.

As a Trainee Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including but not limited to sales ledger management, purchase ledger management, and general financial administration. You will work closely with our experienced accounting team to gain valuable hands-on experience and knowledge.

- Basic Salary starting at £25,000 and with proven success within the role, we will be increasing the salary up to £30,000 the period of time it takes to become fully trained and qualified.
- 24 Days holiday + Bank holidays - Rising with length of service.
- Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm - 1 Hour lunch break

**Responsibilities**:

- **Assisting with Financial Transactions**:This includes processing invoices, payments, and receipts, as well as maintaining accurate records of financial transactions.
- **Sales Ledger Management**:Managing the sales ledger, which involves recording sales transactions, issuing invoices to customers, and ensuring timely payment collection.
- **Purchase Ledger Management**:Managing the purchase ledger, which involves recording purchase transactions and assisting the Purchase Ledger Clerk with any other duties required.
- **Bank Reconciliation**:Reconciling bank statements with the company's financial records to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
- **Assisting with Month-End and Year-End Closing**:Helping with month-end and year-end financial closing processes, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
- **Financial Reporting**:Assisting in the preparation of financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- **Assisting with Forecasting**:Supporting the finance team in variance analysis, and financial forecasting activities.
- **General Administrative Tasks**:Performing general administrative tasks such as filing documents, maintaining spreadsheets, and responding to queries from internal and external stakeholders.

Whilst this is a trainee role, we are looking for someone that does have a level of experience within a finance based occupation.
