Bookkeeping/payroll Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual for a dual focus assistant role covering both payroll and bookkeeping to join our small team in central Wilmslow. The role is part time and expected hours are 20 per week, spread over 4 or 5 days.
The role is office based and there is parking provided.
The bookkeeping aspect of the role will involve:
- Using cloud accounting software and spreadsheets
- Processing bank transactions and other accounting entries
- Purchase and sales ledger management
- Reconciling bank accounts and other control accounts
- Preparing vat returns
- Dealing with client queries.
The payroll aspect of the role will involve:
- Preparation of payrolls in a timely manner on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis
- Calculating and processing payroll adjustments, including bonuses, commissions, and overtime
- Preparing and distributing payslips
- Responding to client enquiries regarding payroll matters.
Previous experience in the following areas preferred but not required:
- Using payroll software
- Using bookkeeping software i.e. Quickbooks/Xero
Required skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft excel
- Able to communicate complex issues clearly and confidently
- Attention to detail
- Strong time management skills
- Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Strong computer skills and able to adapt to a variety of softwares and databases
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: £23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week
