**Job Description** The Team**

Our People Team is on a mission to create a high-performing culture through hiring, developing and retaining talented and diverse people. There are approximately 20 people in the team, made up of HR Business Partners, Recruitment, Learning & Development and People Operations.

**What will you be doing?**

The Head of Business Partnering will manage the HR Business Partner team and partner the Retail Fund Raising business. The Retail business is responsible for developing our tax products and retail fundraising. We put customers at the heart of what we do which is why Octopus Investments has been awarded 5 stars for customer service at the Financial Adviser Service Awards for **10 years in a row.**

You’ll report into our People Director and be responsible for:

- Leading and coaching a team of 3 HR Business Partners. Providing strategic oversight on the cyclical HR processes across the business.
- Managing and delivering organisational change within the Retail business, which will involve contributing to the development of new people projects and initiatives.
- Delivering and embedding the cyclical HR people processes for the Retail business e.g. workforce planning, performance management and talent management.
- Build the capability of managers through strong coaching and mentoring for them to maximise potential and consistently raise the bar on performance.
- Management of complex or sensitive employee relations cases and act as a point of escalation for the team surrounding employment law and risk.
- Input into the broader HR and People strategy as a member of the People Leadership team, sponsoring and coordinating key business projects that the HRBP Team will lead on.

**Qualifications** Ideally, you’ll have**:
Experience of HR business partnering, ideally within both a large complex company and a smaller, fast-moving entrepreneurial company.

Motivated by building and developing high-performance teams and enabling employees to perform at their best.

Excellent at relationship building and communication.

Commercial and results-focused, with the ability to quickly get up to speed on business strategies and understand how people plans need to align with these.

Ability to work in an environment of change and ambiguity.

Ability to positively challenge and influence managers within the business and partner them in delivering business results.

Employment law expertise to guide and support managers in employee relations issues and terminations.

Experience of leading, designing and implementing organisational change in partnership with the business.
