More detail about the role: As an Accredited Clinical Coder you will have experience of coding a variety of specialties that occur within an acute NHS organisation. You will have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and strive to create accurate clinically coded data, embracing the national clinical coding standards, rules and conventions, to ensure the Trust data is sufficiently robust. The Clinical Coding Team is responsible for the extraction and translation of inpatient Clinical information using the ICD-10 and OPCS-4 Coding Classifications.

This information is essential for the effective management of the Trust and crucial to the National Tariff Payment System that underpins Trust income. Coded data is also important for clinical audit, governance and research. The post-holder will be responsible for the clinical coding of inpatient and day-case episodes across all specialties provided at Royal Devon University Healthcare Hospitals. The post involves liaising with Clinicians and Clinical teams on a regular basis to verify data recorded in the Electronic Patient Record.

**Working Pattern**: 37.5 hours per week. As a team we offer a flexible approach to working. A combination of site based and fully remote opportunities are available. Working patterns can be varied to suit individual personal commitments and a healthy work/life balance.
