**This opening assignment is for 5-6 months**
**Basic DBS required for this role**
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that all contract documentation meets the Council’s standards and monitor the quality of services. Ensure high standards are maintained, service quality is tightly controlled, excellent value for money is achieved and service is provided consistently and safely
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with all stakeholders.
- Carryout regular & systematic quality checks of all service providers to ensure compliance with Passenger Transport Legislation & the Council’s conditions of contract. This will include visits to operators’ premises and onsite visits. Liaison with colleagues in the Transport Safeguarding, Procurement and Legal Teams regarding Quality Monitoring.
- To investigate all complaints and issues the service receives in accordance with the Directorate’s and the Councils procedures.
- Issue formal contract warnings, breaches and termination letters when providers fail to meet the necessary contract standard.
- Carryout planned regular school and establishment site visits to ensure Contract compliance is being maintained.
- Participate in the planned programme of Provider visits, which may involve on site face to face meeting.
- To liaise with the Department for Transport in respect of regular PCV vehicle and driver checks of third-party suppliers.
- When necessary, liaise with the District Council regarding taxi license concerns.
- To work cooperatively with colleagues in the service to ensure peaks of activity are managed efficiently.
- Ensure that appropriate ICT systems are fully utilised and up-to-date, accurate records of activity are kept and that appropriate timely management information is available.

- Familiarisation with the Council’s policies on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and acting in accordance with the inter-agency safeguarding procedures of the Oxfordshire Safeguarding boards.

**Qualifications.**
- Good general education with GCSE grade C level English & Maths or equivalent.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Experience of being able to input and extract data in databases and spreadsheets.
- Proven knowledge and understanding of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- Experience of delivering clear written and oral communications.
- Previous front line working with internal and external customers, including dealing with difficult and challenging customers.
- Previous experience of managing and undertaking face-to-face meeting.
- Experience of using own initiative as well as being able to participate in team discussions.
- Ability to prioritise workload while responding to the needs of the service and colleagues.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
