**About the role**

The Lead Document Controller is the focal point within the Project Services Team for Engineering and Projects for document control activities and will support the Project Control Manager in the review and implementation of processes and procedures to meet contract requirements. They will support the development and implementation of improvements in working practices, processes and procedures, ensuring document management / distribution required for each phase of project.
**Key Tasks**
- Manage, control and distribute Design documentation
- Manage, control and distribute Vendor documentation.
- Establish distribution requirements and matrices for internal and external distribution.
- Manage and control Contract Reference / Technical documentation and Standards
- Expedite and Monitor status of project MDR to ensure documentation is submitted according to schedule and provide progress reports / updates to Planning Engineers.
- Distribute documentation to the project team and customer for review and comments.
- Support and assist the Document Controllers assigned to other KCA DEUTAG offices and Projects, and assist with their development.
- Control of archiving and document storage.
- Identify problem areas or issues related to compliance to working practices by Engineering.
- Confer with engineers, managers, customers, and others to discuss project, prepare documents, or modify contract schedules.
- Confer with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents.
- Prepare reports from Document Control System.
- Liaise with Lead Planners in management and control of changes to Project MDR and/or changes to Scope of Supply
- Support the Project Planner in the management and control of changes to scope and dates associated with Baseline Revisions
- Examine Engineering deliverables using the Project DCC QA Check List to verify completeness and compliance with contract requirements.
- Monitor due dates for drawings, specifications, software, technical manuals, and other documents and assist Project Planner in expediting late documentation and / or review returns.
- Organize, maintain, and safeguard files and databases.
- Submit project documentation to management for approval, and transmits approved documents to Client, Contractor, Specialist Sub Contractors and Certifying Bodies.
- Produce and distribute overdue document reports to project engineering team and Project management.

- Previous experience in a Document Control and competent with the use of document management systems.
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Flexible approach and the ability to work to deadline and handle several tasks concurrently.
- Process driven.
- Microsoft Office experience essential, Access experience is desirable.

Experience in Oil and Gas Documentation would be an advantage.
