The schools we are working with in the Birmingham are are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join a reputable SEN school starting in September.

As a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) at our esteemed SEN school, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and support for students with special educational needs. Working closely with the leadership team, teaching staff, parents, and external agencies, you will oversee the provision of inclusive and tailored educational programs to meet the diverse needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the SEN provision within the school, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and national guidelines.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to identify, assess, and support students with special educational needs, creating individualized education plans (IEPs) where necessary.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt the curriculum and differentiate instruction to meet the specific needs of SEN students.
- Provide ongoing training and support to teachers, support staff, and parents to enhance their understanding and implementation of SEN strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision through regular assessments, progress tracking, and data analysis.
- Maintain accurate records of SEN students, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Foster positive relationships with parents, guardians, and external agencies, promoting effective communication and partnership working.
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant postgraduate qualification in special educational needs.
- Proven experience working as a SENCO or in a similar leadership role within a SEN school setting.
- In-depth knowledge of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of different special educational needs, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and specific learning difficulties.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
