- Full induction, ongoing training, and support will be provided. This includes training on processes and procedures, health and safety and safeguarding.
- This is an opportunity to enhance your CV and to learn new skills, such as working with partners and stakeholders, supporting people with additional needs, developing support networks for our residents and the local community, and assisting in researching new resources.
- We can provide references to employers and/or further and higher education establishments.
- Travel and refreshment expenses reimbursed on the provision of receipts, following our policies and procedures. *

**What would I be doing?**

In your volunteering role, for a broad experience of resident support and to assist the team, you can expect the following:

- Being in person at the office in Emily House for a minimum of 1 day a week (core hours are typically between 09:00 am and 5:00 pm, to be agreed between volunteer and supervisor).
- Contact residents, to obtain the specific needs of the client, including helping to complete budget sheets, book appointments with the Money Advice team and obtain/follow up on documents required.
- Gain valuable feedback from residents to stay informed about their support needs and to help us improve the service.
- You may have the opportunity to attend Webinars and meetings, internally and externally, to gain knowledge and experience in supporting our residents who are struggling with the cost of living.
- You may assist with researching how we can extend our resources to support residents and members of the community who are in financial hardship.
- You must practice confidentiality.

**What skills are we looking for?**
- Good communication skills.
- Empathy and understanding the needs of vulnerable residents.
- Understanding of confidentiality.
- Able to use own initiative, reliable and trustworthy.
- Basic IT skills, comfortable using Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
