The Smart Works service is delivered in 11 centres across the UK. Over the past ten years, Smart Works has helped over 35,000 women. Across London Smart Works currently has three centres in Ladbroke Grove, Croydon and Islington. The team are currently recruiting for a digital communications volunteer that can be based across any of the London centres.
**About the opportunity**
Our digital communications volunteers will assist with the day to day running of our social media platforms and create digital content for our key channels. We don’t mind if you have senior or junior digital communications experience, but we are looking for someone with a creative eye, who can pick up digital tasks easily. This role may work directly with our clients to capture content for our channels.
Volunteers can attend to a wide range of exclusive events including VIP preview evenings for pop-up fashion sales, volunteer socials and access to our monthly volunteer forums and training. You will become part of the supportive and buzzing Smart Works local community, consisting of 40 staff and over 300 volunteers across our three London centres.
This opportunity would be perfect for anyone who wants to use their skills in digital communications to support unemployed women into the workplace.
**Key Activities**:
- Maintain and monitor social media channels
- Update basic information on the website
- Create basic digital content for use across social media
- Assist with market analysis and keep track of competitors’ activities
- Being empathetic towards our clients and amplifying their voices
**Skills you should have**:
- IT competence, including social media management and web content systems
- Good writing skills
- Ability to identify trends and develop content for various platforms
- Capacity to work under tight deadlines
- A great eye for detail
- Comfortable working with individuals from different backgrounds and respectful of other people’s experiences and approaches.
- Passionate about our mission and fashion as a force for good.
