Strategist - Clinical Trial Experience

Windsor, United Kingdom Langland Full time

Company Description**
Who we are**

Langland, a Publicis Health company, is the only health communications agency that thinks further across Clinical Trial Experience, Medical Strategy & Education, Public Relations & Policy, and Advertising, to create unique value with visionary clients.
**What we believe**

Health brings us together. In the diseases we suffer, the medicines we create, and the causes we champion, health shows us our collective humanity. When we break the barriers that divide us, when we think further, we can create healthier futures, together.
**A passion for craft**

Having expert thinking is only part of our story. To ensure excellence in everything we make, we have centred our disciplines around three essential crafts: science, strategy and creativity.

**Job Description**:
Strategists within the Clinical Trial Experience discipline set the direction for clinical trial recruitment campaigns, including content and messaging for patient and HCP-facing communications, and ensure that the creative, copy and content we make accurately reflects the strategy. As such, our remit includes aspects of brand positioning, creative strategy, media planning and message development.

The heart of the role is formulating the strategic response to requests for proposal (RFPs) from clinical trial sponsors (usually pharma companies), who come to us for support in recruiting and retaining participants on their trials. These RFPs can be for studies in any therapy area, and any location, so Strategists need an understanding of how global pharma works, a solid grounding in science, medicine and healthcare, and familiarity with the medical literature (e.g. PubMed).

CTE Strategy is a small team within Langland’s wider Strategy craft. The work is fast-paced, and often requires diving deep into a number of therapy areas at once. Strategists are expected to provide a clear, compelling strategic story every time, so intellectual rigour and structured thinking are must-haves.
**Essential skills**
- You will be naturally curious, keen to learn and a positive support for the Strategy team
- You will be confident to challenge ideas, bringing new perspectives to every problem and brief
- You must have a highly disciplined thinking process, be comfortable with both structure and process, and uncertainty and ‘grey areas’
- You must be able to articulate how and why creative is on or off strategy, and create a compelling argument for selling ideas
- You must have an intuitively strategic mind, specifically: high EQ and be able to walk in the shoes of both clients and customers; comfortable with data; have an open mind; be able to link ideas and see patterns where others cannot
- You must have an interest in working within healthcare - we’ll expect to see genuine enthusiasm for what we do
- You will have exceptional strong verbal and written communication skills and be seen as a logical, confident ‘voice’ to clients and internal stakeholders alike
- You should have strong attention to detail and exemplary visual, verbal, written and numeracy skills
- You should have the ability to manage projects and your own workload independently, and take responsibility for deliverables
- You’ll hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
***As a Strategist you will decide on how to position a clinical trial, and how to communicate its proposition effectively with key audiences with creative ideas, copy and design. Your own experiences, likely including specific therapy area expertise gained in previous healthcare communications roles, will add perspective to the CTE Strategy team, expanding our capabilities across a range of accounts. You will be confident in interacting with senior clients with credibility, and build trust with client teams through your thinking and presentation skills, to become an essential part of their business
