We are looking for three organised and driven individuals who are interested in working in a student wellbeing role, providing welfare support and advice to students in Departments located within in the Faculty of Natural Sciences (FoNS). The student experience we provide is a substantial contributor to our success and we are aiming to further strengthen our provision by addressing the wellbeing and mental health challenges that students face.

There are four primary Departments within FoNS. We are looking for three individuals to complete a team of four. Individuals will be assigned to a Department further to interview, with an expectation that the roles will work together and cover each other as needed.

**Duties and responsibilities**:
The roles are responsible for providing a high level of wellbeing advice and mentoring within the Faculty, including the following:

- Providing wellbeing advice and mentoring to students, complementing support provided by the Faculty Senior Tutor, Senior Tutor(s) and Personal Tutors
- Delivering effective short-term one-to-one support to students who require a quick response to wellbeing issues
- Providing ongoing support for students with longer term issues
- Providing a confidential, unbiased, non-judgemental listening service to students, signposting students to appropriate College support services and following up engagement where necessary
- Liaising with the Faculty Senior Tutor and Senior Tutor(s) in cases where further support and action may be necessary
- Developing and leading workshops for students to cover areas such as mindfulness, resilience and enhancing life skills
- Developing and leading training for Personal Tutors in wellbeing awareness
- Management of wellbeing information available to students, including Virtual Learning Environments
- Promotion of student wellbeing initiatives through appropriate communication channels
- Supporting the work of the Departmental Disabilities Officers (DDO)
- Participation in the network of Wellbeing Advisers and Student Liaison Officers across the Faculty
- Attendance at relevant meetings and working groups as appropriate.

**Essential requirements**:
In order to be considered for this position, you will:

- Have experience of working in secondary or higher education with a focus on student mentoring and wellbeing support
- Have experience of providing mentoring support to students in a professional context
- Have an awareness of safeguarding principles
- Have an awareness of data protection guidelines and an understanding of the complexities involved in the management of confidential and sensitive information
- Have an experience of working independently in a constructive way.

**Further information**:
The roles are full time, open ended.

The role will be based at one of the College’s campuses, depending on the Department. The Adviser linked with the Life Sciences Department will work regularly at Silwood Park. The Adviser linked with the Chemistry Department will work regularly at White City. All Advisers will work flexibly across campus locations to ensure reasonable student needs are met and cover for colleagues at times of leave and absence.

Hybrid working may be considered for this role and the role holder may be expected to work 60% or more of their time onsite, with 40% the minimum time spent onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working can be discussed at interview.
