Huntingdon, United Kingdom Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Having successfully secured funding to develop our international recruitment team we are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and innovative person to join our team.

You will be a key contact for our new nurses and AHP's, providing them with pastoral support to ensure a successful transition to the NHS and the UK. An integral part of this role is to ensure that there is an effective, efficient, and culturally sensitive pastoral service delivered to each clinician that joins CPFT. You will also support the international recruitment lead nurse and the rest of the team with the ongoing support of the internationally recruited staff.

You will be highly motivated, creative, committed to striving for excellence and passionate about supporting others. You will have strong communication skills and recognise the value of working collaboratively with our services.

If you are looking for an opportunity to have a real impact, challenge yourself and be part of a programme that will support our colleagues to deliver outstanding care then this role could be just what you are looking for.
- To ensure an effective, efficient and culturally sensitive appropriate service is delivered to support each internationally recruited clinician.
- To support the planning and arrival of internationally recruited registered professionals
- To provide social, emotional and health and wellbeing support to the newly recruited registered international nurses and assist with their integration into the Trust workforce and social integration into the local communities
- To build excellent working relationships across CPFT and with external agencies and partners to enhance the experience of internationally recruited registered nurses and retain them in the workforce
- To develop, manage and implement arrival support, including location orientation, induction and integration processes with the relevant managers

Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is a health & social care organisation dedicated to providing high quality care with compassion to improve the health & wellbeing of the people we care for, as well as supporting & empowering them to lead a fulfilling life.

Our clinical teams deliver many NHS services not only via inpatient and primary care setting but also with the community. These services include Children, Adult & Older Peoples mental & physical health, Forensic & Specialist mental health, Learning Disabilities, Primary Care & Liaison psychiatry, Substance misuse, Social care, Research & Development.

Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of responsibilities
2. Arrange for pre arrival essential information to be obtained - this will ensure that pastoral support requirements can be individualised and culturally appropriate, i.e. sizing for uniforms, dietary appropriate basic food supply on arrival and accommodation appropriateness.
3. Develop a CPFT welcome letter to be sent prior to the arrival of the overseas clinician, setting the tone and making them feel welcomed and valued by the organisation and inclusive of why the organisation is looking forward to welcoming them and outlining what great benefits they will be getting by working as an employee of the organisation and NHS.
4. Develop a welcome pack in addition to the welcome letter that enhances the first impressions and deepens the overseas clinicians understanding of the organisation and Cambridgeshire & Peterborough as it encourages the overseas clinician to research the organisation and the local area which in turn will reduce anxieties.
5. Arrange a ‘day after arrival’ welcome induction and local area orientation session that includes navigating around the local community. This could include taking them to the local supermarket, helping them use the train / bus services, showing them the local church / spiritual place etc.
6. Arrange a welcoming event and invite previously internationally recruited clinicians, Ward Managers / Directorate Clinical Leaders and other clinical staff as part of their orientation. Also welcoming and introduce via Team Brief and other relevant Trust communication systems to further support orientation and thanks.
7. Arrangement of ongoing one to one sessions to offer individualised holistic support to ensure that the individual feels physically, emotionally and spiritually supported and knows how to access any help required.
8. Develop, implement and manage a sustainable supportive ‘checking in’ system that ensures knowledge of individuals’ wellbeing and how things are going every few days.
